“As well as ensuring your cargo is contained effectively, Inspectors are also checking to see if you have secured your equipment properly. Your vehicle’s tailgate, tailboard, doors, tarpaulins, spare tires, shovels, winches, webbing, dollies and any other equipment used in its operation must all be secured against movement. It is crucial that you take the time to inspect your unit before you begin your trip, every time you park or stop, and every three hours or 150 miles – whichever comes first.”
